# Resources and exercises for developing and honing ChatGPT prompt skills

Even though I’m supposed to be on a break from Substack, I thought I’d post a quick link to a [new set of resources](https://andrewmaynard.net/an-introduction-to-basic-prompt-engineering-with-chatgpt/) designed to develop and hone basic prompt skills when using ChatGPT.

These were developed while pulling together Arizona State University’s new online course on basic prompt engineering using ChatGPT. They cover everything from error bias and failure modes and the basics of professional prompt crafting, to a unique approach to evaluating and improving prompts and responses.

Importantly, they also cover the responsible and ethical use of ChatGPT.

Naturally the class these were developed for goes into more depth, but if you are looking for a quick intro to using ChatGPT in a professional setting, this is hopefully a useful place to start.
